FREQUENTLY ASKED ART QUESTIONS

  • ARE THESE ORIGINAL PIECES?

Yes, all artwork produced and released by Heidi Scheleski is completely original and unique. No two pieces are the same. When you invest in a piece, you are collecting a one-of-a-kind artwork that no other person has or will own. All works are authentic from this creator and site.

  • CAN I SHARE YOUR ARTWORK?

I would absolutely love to have my pieces shared! Of course, due to copyright laws, you are not allowed to claim intellectual or creative ownership of my work. If you do share anything, make sure to tag my social accounts and additionally mention my name as the creator. If you have collected the artwork and have physical ownership, the same rules apply. Thank you for sharing and respecting creators!

  • DO YOU SHIP WORLDWIDE?

At this time, international shipping is only available for art prints In the future, originals on canvas will be made possible Shipping artwork is a very thorough and delicate process. Artwork is only shipped to places where there is confidence it will arrive intact.

  • WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A SEALANT?

All art is sealed in order to preserve and protect the painting. After anywhere from a few days to a few weeks of drying, two layers of an isolation coat is done to keep the colors and paint protected to enhance longevity. After this, either epoxy resin or gloss varnish will be applied in layers. The resin gives a glass-like finish while the gloss varnish is more textured. Both are permanent and non-removable. Sealing keeps the art water resistant as well.

  • WHICH MATERIALS DO YOU USE?

At this time, the pieces you see are created with stretched canvas, acrylic paints (largely Liquitex paints, in which I mix my own colors), and occasionally 18 karat gold. All originals on canvas are signed in 18 karat gold. All original artwork is sealed. They are either finished with epoxy resin or gloss varnish after two isolation coats to preserve the painting.

  • WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF SHIPPING CANVAS?

If you are unfamiliar with the process of transporting art, this may come as a shock. Shipping artwork, especially that on canvas, can become extremely expensive. At this time, I invest in all shipping materials and package the art myself. This is time consuming and is factored into the costs. Depending on the size and location, shipping costs can vary from $50 - $250 for originals.

  • DO YOU SELL PRINTS?

Yes! Exclusive art prints are now available worldwide. Orders are placed here and fulfilled through Printful. The only original pieces on canvas, of various sizes and dimensions, are available directly from the artist.

  • IS THE ART READY TO HANG?

This is weight and size dependent.

If the piece is lightweight, meaning it is 24 in x 24 in or smaller and especially if it has a 1/2 inch width, it only requires a conventional picture hanger that can be bought at a local hardware store.

If the piece is more heavy in weight and size, I will have D-rings and wire hung on the back so that it can be hung properly.

In either case, 10 or 20 lb quick hanger will work nicely.

  • HOW DO I CARE FOR THE ART?

All original on canvas are shipped with a certificate of authenticity. This certificate includes care instructions.

Make sure to store the art in a cool place and away from direct sunlight. The pieces have a protective sealing but need indirect sunlight for longevity.

When transporting, make sure to cover art with a clean, smooth surface such as packing paper with corner protectors.
